Our mentor program is being developed to help our business members.
We are looking for people that have spent a career in the work force developing their particular talents in their line of work.

I could spend all day listing the examples.  But it would be easier to say…what talent or skill do you have that could help a local business?
And do you have the time to spend with them?

We are not asking for people to “work” for these businesses, we are asking for you to spend some time in teaching these people what you have learned over the years to help make their job easier, more productive and more lucrative.

So I will give you one example:
Joe opened his lawnmower repair shop.  Joe can repair just about any lawnmower out there, he has a gift.  But Joe has never had to deal with the bookkeeping end of the business and it is tripping him up, and aggravating him as well.

Well, Tom just retired from his job at Accountants are Us.  And has some free time he would love to impart the knowledge he has to someone. So he signs up for the mentor program.

Joe finally says this would be a lot easier if I could just talk with someone about this, so he goes to the Lake Anna Chamber of Commerce website and looks under the business directory for what Mentor’s are available.  Hey look! An accountant signed up, I’m going to give him a call and see if he can help me make heads or tails out of this bookkeeping system I have or actually don’t have.

Joe and Tom work out a schedule that will work for both of them, and they soon have Joe straightened out on what he needs to do and the easiest way to get it done.  So now Joe has much more time to fix his lawnmowers.
